The Optimist is one of the most popular types of sailboat in the world, recognized as an international class by the International Sailing Federation.
With a flat-bottomed hull and a single sail, it is a lightweight, stable, and very easy-to-maneuver boat. It is often used for teaching children how to sail. It can be practiced for leisure or in competition, up to an international level.
